A word...

I want to thank all of you for continued prayer for all of us in this ministry.

It is important you know we do pray for each of you as well. We may not know all of you by name, but everyone of you have an important part as this ministry continues to move forward and grow.

I do not think Mark would mind me sharing something he told me over skype.

So I am going to let you know just how magnificent the Lord is.

Mark had a wonderful talk with his daughter the other day. At one point in time, that may never have come about. But God is able to redeem what the enemy tries to destroy. Mark said it was very pleasant. I think he may be understating :) Just one little point to show how powerful prayer is.

Continuing to joy in the journey,

David

We still have our original website up as well, should you like to go there and poke around!

"Incredibles..."

What an incredible God we serve!

I showed the movie "The Incredibles."

Now that is our word for the Lord. Amazingly incredible!

EQUIPMENT CAME TODAY!

It has been four years since the Lord gave me the vision to doing self supporting ministry here in Cambodia.   Many times I just wanted to give up. Seemed like it was just my idea as nothing was happening to make it come to pass. But the Lord would never let me quit. Always bringing the vision back to me.

And now look!  It is here! It is happening!  And only because others trusted in Jesus and then me. None of this would be happening if not for all of you back home.

This is as much a part of you as it is me. I'm just the one that came but wouldn't be here without all of you. I thank and pray to our Lord for you always!

Here are some pics. Very big day here. No one here has ever seen these things before. They are incredible to them.

The grinder I didn't think would be a big deal as I was told they had them here. They do, only they're hand type grinders. When they saw how fast the meat went through they just wanted to keep putting it in.

Then came the slicer. I am so blessed to to be able to see the look on their faces. Wish I had a pic.

Here are some pics to show just what YOU have made possible!

Our first pig will be here in a little bit. Wanted to name the first one so we decided on "Incredible"  She is bigger than I will usually buy but want to make sausage so doesn't matter. She is a mother. Well, not really. She had still births so they were selling her. We paid one dollar per pound. Good deal!  Chinda's sister is selling the head, feet and every piece you can think of selling.  Even the bones are sold to make beef noodle soup. That's what a lot eat for breakfast. When they cook the head they fight over the eyes. Not me. I haven't tried that one. As I said nothing is wasted. Nothing.

Miss Incredible (300 pounds) before...
and Miss incredible after!
I heard on the new before I left the States that we throw 25% of our food away. Not here. Not even one percent.
The butcher table was made by Chan's farther and bother.  When went to buy one they wanted over four hundred dollars for one smaller than this. The wood is harder and heavier than black walnut. After they finished it took six men to move into the kitchen. I have been praying over it. That all who work on and eat the meat that goes across this table will be blessed!

God bless you all from your bother in Christ Jesus,

celebrating and foot washing...

Happy Khmer New Year!

The third New Year.

First was International New Year.

Then Chinese New Year which lasted one week.

And now Cambodia New Year lasting ten days.

These are like our Christmas holidays. Long!

With 14,000,000 birthdays, everybody has their birthday. Phnom Penh is now like a ghost town. Everybody comes/goes home for these ten days. There are 98 holidays in Cambodia. There were 96, but the king died this year so they added two more.

These pics are from the village where Channa lives. The games are simple but they have so much fun. They do this all day off and on as different people come. They hang three pots. Two are filled with candy and the other with water. If you hit the water one you get wet!

 Gotta love those glasses!

Foot Washing

These were taken at the kids village that live with me. They have been home now for two weeks. School is out for a month. They are coming back next week. They have been helping at home. It is best for them to be home as much as possible.

We went there to do church service the first day of the New Year. It was another all day deal. So good.

First they were told the story of the last supper and that Jesus was telling us to serve each other. That no one is better than anyone else. So after the story and preaching by three different pastors they washed the elders feet.

Their children washed the parents feet.

Pretty amazing thing to be a part of. God so blesses me.

Then there were skits, dancing and tug of war. What a day to be one of the Lord's children.

Others who have not been here have no idea what you are missing. Oh, of course lots of food. Lunch and dinner. There it is right along the river so we had fish.

Want others to know how you are supporting this is having a huge impact on lives here. The children's father took seven weeks to finish the kitchen. No big deal. But it was for him. He sat in on Bible studies and is a liitle more interested in knowing Jesus. He is the main reason so many elders came to these studies.

So waiting for this week was well worth it all!

A note...

Here some pics from my deck bedroom.

It was pretty cool for three days. High around 95. Low near 80.

But now back to normal.

For April high hovers at 106 low 95. I do okay until about 100 then it takes a lot out of me.

Well just a note!

Thanks for praying!

Mark

They pile as many people and/or items on the vehicle as they can.
Some only standing on their toes on the back.
It's about four kilometers to factory from here.
There are about fifteen of these trucks every morning and night.
They go in all directions to pick up factory workers.
No wasted hauling space

The pic of two girls.
They wear long sleeve hoodies.
It's over 100 but they don't want to tan.
Want to be white.
Then they say how hot it is!

Communion...

... not the same as at home.

When they say breaking bread they mean it. Nothing like having a little pork with your dinner.

Church lasted from 9 am to 4:30 pm.

All day and what a great day it was.  Wish others could of been here.

Thank you Lord!
Soup made with the inides of the pig.
I didn't try it as there where other items to eat,
but if it had been the only thing I would of had to eat some.

marketing

I realized after reading one of David's emails that I had not really told anyone the marketing plan or the growth plan for the bacon ministry.

Marketing

We will start with ten kilograms. The smoker holds about 100 kilograms. We can smoke the different sausages, bacons and other products three times a day if God blesses us that way, which I believe He will. He sure has put everything together so far.

We will be producing bacon, ham, canadian bacon. Boneless. Don't want to take any chances with bone in.

We will make many small batches of different kinds of sausage and see what the people like best. Then start making those along with Italian, rice, bratwurst, and American breakfast sausage for expatriates.

Will have vendors selling them at the factory four times a day. Lunch, dinner and shift changes. 1500 workers per shift. Two shifts, six days a week.

We will also be having vendors selling them at the market and to Vietnamese at the the river front. Some vendors have barbeques on the side of their motos. They sell everything from Cambodian sausage to frogs.   About half the city population eat out every night. It's cheap, easy and very very good.

I wanted to go to Phnom Penh around the first of July. Andy was looking for someone to sell for us. Andy thinks he wants to do it. He already had a staff and a group of young men that are going to University and working at night. Andy checks on them to make sure they are doing what they should and helps out with anything you can imagine under the sun. Well anyway, last night I had dinner with Andy and he thinks he wants to do distributing.  After talking with him I am quite sure it is going to happen.

Andy already has two stores that will carry the products. He knows everyone. Well not everyone. That's Jesus job. Anyway, it all seems a God-thing. We could not have picked a better man than Andy to partner with. I know him. And he has known me for along time. He said there are over eighty expatriate stores in Phnom Penh. Most of these stores are either nearby or close to international schools, businesses or neighborhoods. Andy said he would build a web site with a map on it to show where you could buy the products. It will be the only meat in Cambodia with no msg, artificial flavoring or added water.

Andy is going home to Albuquerque April 4th. He will be remaining there until August 1st. A month longer than I want to wait. If he decides to do this then waiting will be well worth it. I know God has a reason for the extra month and look forward to seeing what it is. If not, then have a few other people that will distribute and sell the bacon products. I am certain Andy is who the Lord wants. Pray that it will be the Lord's will.

I believe that Phnom Penh will put to use our maximum output with what we have right now. That would be around 200 to 300 kilograms a day. There are over 300 restaurants that cater to expatriates and tourists.

This part of the business ministry should be self-supportive within ninety days after the equipment arrives. That would be 25 kilograms day or 650 kilograms a month.

Thanks for continuing to pray,

Mark
