marketing

I realized after reading one of David's emails that I had not really told anyone the marketing plan or the growth plan for the bacon ministry.

Marketing

We will start with ten kilograms. The smoker holds about 100 kilograms. We can smoke the different sausages, bacons and other products three times a day if God blesses us that way, which I believe He will. He sure has put everything together so far.

We will be producing bacon, ham, canadian bacon. Boneless. Don't want to take any chances with bone in.

We will make many small batches of different kinds of sausage and see what the people like best. Then start making those along with Italian, rice, bratwurst, and American breakfast sausage for expatriates.

Will have vendors selling them at the factory four times a day. Lunch, dinner and shift changes. 1500 workers per shift. Two shifts, six days a week.

We will also be having vendors selling them at the market and to Vietnamese at the the river front. Some vendors have barbeques on the side of their motos. They sell everything from Cambodian sausage to frogs.   About half the city population eat out every night. It's cheap, easy and very very good.

I wanted to go to Phnom Penh around the first of July. Andy was looking for someone to sell for us. Andy thinks he wants to do it. He already had a staff and a group of young men that are going to University and working at night. Andy checks on them to make sure they are doing what they should and helps out with anything you can imagine under the sun. Well anyway, last night I had dinner with Andy and he thinks he wants to do distributing.  After talking with him I am quite sure it is going to happen.

Andy already has two stores that will carry the products. He knows everyone. Well not everyone. That's Jesus job. Anyway, it all seems a God-thing. We could not have picked a better man than Andy to partner with. I know him. And he has known me for along time. He said there are over eighty expatriate stores in Phnom Penh. Most of these stores are either nearby or close to international schools, businesses or neighborhoods. Andy said he would build a web site with a map on it to show where you could buy the products. It will be the only meat in Cambodia with no msg, artificial flavoring or added water.

Andy is going home to Albuquerque April 4th. He will be remaining there until August 1st. A month longer than I want to wait. If he decides to do this then waiting will be well worth it. I know God has a reason for the extra month and look forward to seeing what it is. If not, then have a few other people that will distribute and sell the bacon products. I am certain Andy is who the Lord wants. Pray that it will be the Lord's will.

I believe that Phnom Penh will put to use our maximum output with what we have right now. That would be around 200 to 300 kilograms a day. There are over 300 restaurants that cater to expatriates and tourists.

This part of the business ministry should be self-supportive within ninety days after the equipment arrives. That would be 25 kilograms day or 650 kilograms a month.

Thanks for continuing to pray,

Mark
